🧘♀️ What Is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods — typically 3–5 minutes or more.
Unlike dynamic styles, Yin targets the deep connective tissues — fascia, ligaments and joints — rather than mainly the muscles.
It invites stillness, softness and surrender.
🌿 Benefits of Yin Yoga
• Improves flexibility and joint mobility
• Supports healthy fascia and circulation
• Calms the nervous system
• Reduces stress and anxiety
• Encourages emotional release
• Balances busy, fast-paced lifestyles
• Supports energetic flow through meridian lines
Yin is not about pushing — it’s about allowing.
It’s where we pause, breathe and come home to ourselves.
✨ About Me
I’m Jackie — a Yin Yoga teacher, wedding and celebrant ceremony creator, and sound healing facilitator based in Spain.
My work weaves together seasonal Yin Yoga, full moon gatherings, fire rituals, and immersive gong and sound experiences to help people reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.
With a passion for creating safe, nurturing spaces, I guide my students and clients to slow down, release what no longer serves them, and set meaningful intentions — whether that’s on the yoga mat, under the full moon, or during one of life’s most sacred ceremonies.
I believe in balance — honouring both the yin and yang of life — and in the power of ritual, stillness and sound to restore the body, calm the mind and nourish the spirit.
Based on the Costa Blanca, I offer seasonal workshops, retreats and private experiences across Alicante and Valencia
🌿 Benefits of Yin Yoga
1. Improves Flexibility & Joint Mobility
By holding poses longer, Yin gently stresses connective tissue, helping improve:
-
Hip mobility
-
Spine flexibility
-
Joint range of motion
Perfect for people who feel tight or stiff (especially from lots of yang activity like running or strength training).
2. Supports Fascia Health
Yin hydrates and stimulates the fascia (the web-like connective tissue throughout the body), which can:
-
Reduce stiffness
-
Improve circulation
-
Help prevent injury
3. Deeply Calms the Nervous System
Yin activates the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode), helping to:
-
Reduce stress
-
Lower anxiety
-
Improve sleep
-
Support hormonal balance
This makes it beautiful during busy seasons or life transitions.
4. Encourages Emotional Release
Because we sit in stillness, emotions can surface. Yin gives space to:
-
Process stored tension
-
Release emotional blocks
-
Cultivate inner awareness
Many people say it feels like a “physical meditation.”
5. Complements Yang Lifestyles
If your life is busy, fast-paced, or physically intense, Yin brings balance.
It’s the perfect counterpart to:
-
Dynamic yoga
-
HIIT workouts
-
Busy work schedules
-
Even menopause transitions
6. Supports Meridians & Energy Flow
Inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yin works along meridian lines (energy channels), helping:
-
Improve energetic balance
-
Support organ health
-
Encourage emotional harmony
✨ In Simple Terms
Yin Yoga is:
-
Slow
-
Grounding
-
Deep
-
Meditative
-
Therapeutic
It’s less about how it looks and more about how it feels.
